He practiced
at Leeds University Dojo while a student
there in 1977 and helped start Bradford
Dojo. He is Shidoin in the UKA on the staff of Coach Tutors with the BAB.
Philip Smith Sensei was promoted to the rank of 6th Dan in 2003 and also holds the rank of 3rd Dan Iai-do (Japanese Swordsmanship) with the British Kendo Association.
